Van Asten made her official debut at the start of the 2025/2026 season, starting in the home match against ADO Den Haag. Prior to that, she spent three years progressing through the Ajax youth academy, playing for the various Ajax Women talent teams. "It has all happened very quickly. It really is a dream come true," the Ajax player said in an earlier interview.
A month after her debut, she scored her first goal for the club. She found the net with a header in the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup match against Grasshoppers.
Van Asten made 18 appearances for the Ajax Women in the Eredivisie this season. In those matches, she registered 1,006 passes with an accuracy of exactly 86 percent, placing her among the top six players in the Azerion Vrouwen Eredivisie with at least 1,000 passes. She is joined in that top six by teammate Jonna van de Velde. More than half of those 1,006 passes, 529, were played in the opposition half.
She also shared the pitch in all eighteen matches with Van de Velde and goalkeeper Regina van Eijk. In addition, she played seventeen matches alongside Danique Noordman and sixteen with Sherida Spitse.
Ground duels and interceptions
Van Asten’s ability on the ball is beyond doubt and clearly reflected in her statistics. Defensively, she also performed strongly for Ajax this season. She won sixty ground duels, with only Bo van Egmond and Noordman recording more within the team. Noordman leads by a considerable margin with 116 successful ground duels.
Van Asten is also an important presence in terms of interceptions. With twenty interceptions, only Daliyah de Klonia has recorded more within the Ajax squad. All in all, it has been an excellent season for the nineteen-year-old Van Asten, who has proven both offensively and defensively that this recognition is well deserved.
