The Eredivisie kicks off on the evening of Friday, 13 August. Next day, Ajax will be welcoming league graduates N.E.C., who won promotion back into the top league after a four-season absence. Kick-off is scheduled for 21:00.

Feyenoord - Ajax just before the winter break
We have to wait until well into the first half of the season before the first of the "Classic" derbies. Ajax will be visiting Feyenoord in the seventeenth round - last but one game before the winter break. On Sunday, 24 October, it will be the turn of Ajax v PSV, and on Sunday, 12 December, Ajax v AZ.

The Johan Cruijff Shield is due to be played on Saturday, 7 August, at 20:00. That depends on how well PSV play in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. If the Eindhoven players don't get through, the traditional start to the season will move to Sunday, 8 August at 18:00.

These are the league matches for Ajax. Please note: subject to change.

Ajax go 'back to red' for their training strip

Many fans will have fond memories of board members Edwin van der Sar and Marc Overmars always 'in the red' as players on the training pitch, or of the red training strip future captains such as Jan Vertonghen and Luis Suárez wore when they came out for training. Although the training strip has often changed colour in recent seasons, Erik ten Hag's team will be going back to the traditional Ajax red for the 2021/2022 season.

In figures | This is how Ajax triumphed last season in the Eredivisie

Referee Serdar Gözübüyük’s final whistle at the end of the away game at Vitesse brought Ajax's season to a close. A football season that will be remembered for the silent stadiums, but also a year when the team from Amsterdam triumphed in the Netherlands. That triumph is plain to see if we look at the stats for this year.
