Ajax and Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Gerónimo Spina. The 21-year-old defender has signed a contract in Amsterdam that runs until June 30, 2028. The agreement includes an option for an additional season. Spina will join the Jong Ajax squad with immediate effect.
Spina (La Plata, Argentina, February 9, 2005) began his career with Estudiantes. The Argentina youth international, who also holds an Italian passport, joined Atlético Madrid's U19 team in the summer of 2023. Over the past two seasons, Spina has played for the Spanish club’s reserve team.

Emre Ünüvar put the Amsterdam side 0-1 ahead. Although PSV U23 created the first chance of the match, Ajax U23 gradually took control thereafter. That dominance was rewarded with Ünüvar’s opening goal.
