Renee van Asten and Xanne Kip have been friends since their earliest years at Ajax. The pair came through the youth academy together and have both become regular starters this season. Earlier this week, Van Asten was named Johan Cruijff Talent of the Year at the Eredivisie Awards. Away from the pitch, the two are inseparable, which is why Kelly Zeeman joined Renee and Xanne for an afternoon on the water.
The Ajax Women will face Feyenoord at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on April 26. In the build-up to the Women’s Klassieker, we are profiling five players to get to know them better. This is Xanne Kip, an Ajax player through and through. "This club means a great deal to me. When I wake up, I’m already looking forward to training with the Ajax Women. I see football as a hobby. That it has become my job is fantastic."
Ajax have contracted Renee van Asten and Xanne Kip. 18-year-old Van Asten signed a contract until June 30, 2027, while 19-year-old Kip signed a contract until June 30, 2028.
