Ajax travel to Italy with 29 players for Como Cup
Ajax will depart for Italy on Tuesday afternoon for a training camp. The squad will take part in the Como Cup, which kicks off on Wednesday, July 23. The Amsterdam side will play their first match on Thursday, July 24. Head coach John Heitinga is taking 29 players to Italy.
Why the training camp in Italy is so interesting
Ajax will travel to Italy on Tuesday, July 22, for a training camp near Lake Como. In the southern European country, they will play the Como Cup from Thursday, July 24, onwards, facing opponents such as Celtic, Al-Ahli, and Como 1907. Participation in this friendly tournament does not come out of nowhere. Since the beginning of this year, Ajax and Serie A club Como 1907 have been in a partnership. And that is one of the reasons why this visit to Italy is so interesting.
