Brian Brobbey has been playing in Ajax's youth academy since 2010. In October 2020, he made his Eredivisie debut for Ajax 1 against Fortuna Sittard at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The striker scored immediately in the 5-2 victory. In the summer of 2022, Brobbey returned to Ajax after his stint at RB Leipzig in 2021.

After the matches against Panathinaikos and NAC, it is only the second time since Francesco Farioli's appointment this summer that Ajax has gone two consecutive games (FC Utrecht and AZ) without securing a victory.
