Owen Wijndal was presented as a brand new Ajax player on Tuesday afternoon. As a little boy he wanted to play in the famous red and white in Amsterdam. At the age of 22, he made this dream come true, coming through the youth academy and the first team of AZ. "It was time for a new step."

Owen Wijndal signed a five-year contract at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Tuesday. The 22-year-old left wing back played several times for AZ and the Dutch national team in Amsterdam, but will do so wearing an Ajax kit for the first time this coming season.
Ajax has reached an agreement with AZ and Owen Wijndal for the defender’s transfer to Amsterdam. Wijndal has signed a contract with Ajax that is effective immediately and will run for five seasons, until June 30, 2027. Ajax will pay a fixed transfer fee of € 10 million to AZ.
