Week 45 is the last time Ajax will see any live action in 2022. The World Cup is looming, but the Ajax players still have two crucial fixtures to play before that. Firstly, Wednesday evening at home against Vitesse.

In the run-up to the visit from Arnhem, Ajax held a final training session Tuesday afternoon. Birthday boy Remko Pasveer got a lovely present from his fellow players. He had to run the gauntlet and avoid getting hit round the head by the Ajax players.

These days the Ajax team are focusing mainly on revenge after losing 2-1 in the big clash against rivals PSV. By beating Vitesse, Ajax will take over the lead from the team from Eindhoven. Saturday sees the final match in the first half of the season, away to FC Emmen.

Highlights Ajax - PSV

Ajax lost to PSV at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. After an intense game, it was 1-2. Lorenzo Lucca scored the tying goal in the closing stages, but it proved not enough. For the Italian, though, it was his first official goal in Ajax shirt.
