Ajax has reached an agreement with Julian Brandt. The attacking midfielder was available on a free transfer. He has signed a three-year contract in Amsterdam, effective immediately and running until June 30, 2029.
Brandt (Bremen, May 2, 1996) spent the past seven seasons with Borussia Dortmund. Prior to that, the 48-time Germany international played for Bayer Leverkusen for six seasons, among other clubs.

With Julian, we are bringing in a top international player with a wealth of experience and a fantastic mentality. I am convinced he will add real quality to our squad."
Ajax will face Shelbourne FC in the third preliminary round of the UEFA Conference League. The fixture was confirmed on Thursday evening after Ajax overcame FK Vojvodina over two legs. The matches against the Irish side will be played on August 6 and 13, 2026, with Ajax hosting the first leg.
Ajax also defeated FK Vojvodina 4-1 at home in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. The score was level at 1-1 at half-time, but Oscar Gloukh took centre stage after the break, scoring a hat-trick. Ajax will face Irish side Shelbourne FC in the third qualifying round.
Ajax also recorded a 4-1 victory over FK Vojvodina on home soil. Last week, Ajax won by the exact same scoreline in Serbia. Oscar Gloukh was the star of the show on Thursday evening at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, scoring three goals. Ajax will face Irish side Shelbourne FC in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League next week.
