Ajax and NEC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ahmetcan Kaplan to the Nijmegen-based club. The 23-year old defender was under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2027.

Kaplan (Trabzon, Turkey, January 16, 2003) came through the youth academy at Trabzonspor, the club from his hometown. In the summer of 2022, he moved to Ajax. He made his first-team debut on February 25, 2024, in the league match against AZ. In total, the defender made 25 appearances for Ajax's first team. Last season, Kaplan spent the campaign on loan at NEC, where he now returns on a permanent basis.

Ajax thanked Kaplan for his time in Amsterdam and wished him every success in this next step of his career.
