Ko Itakura returns to Borussia Mönchengladbach

Ajax, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Ko Itakura have reached an agreement on the defender's transfer to the club where he spent three years before joining Ajax. The Japan international was under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2029.

Itakura (Yokohama, Japan, January 27, 1997) joined Ajax from the German side last summer and made his debut on August 17, 2025, in the Eredivisie match against Go Ahead Eagles. He went on to make 26 official appearances for Ajax's first team.

Ajax would like to thank Itakura for his commitment and contribution to the club and wishes him every success in Germany.
