Oleksander Zinchenko is currently continuing his rehabilitation at Ajax. The Ukrainian sustained an injury in February while playing for Ajax during the match against Fortuna Sittard at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Zinchenko is currently without a club and has been given permission to complete the final stage of his rehabilitation at de Toekomst.
Zinchenko signed a six-month contract with Ajax in the winter of 2026. Due to the injury he sustained against Fortuna Sittard, his involvement was limited to two appearances.
"I would like to say a massive thank you to Jordi Cruijff, coach Míchel Sánchez and everyone at Ajax for giving me the opportunity to complete my rehabilitation and get back on track. I’m truly grateful to everyone at the club for the warm welcome and incredible support throughout this journey. It means a lot to me", says Zinchenko.
Oleksandr Zinchenko has been ruled out for an extended period. The defender suffered a knee injury last weekend in the early stages of the home match with Fortuna Sittard at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
Ajax recorded an 2-5 away win over FC Groningen on Sunday. Goals from Julian Brandt (2), Jorthy Mokio (2) and Aaron Bouwman secured all three points for Míchel Sánchez's side in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie.
On Sunday, November 15, Ajax Legends and FC Barcelona Legends will face each other at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in a Legacy Match paying tribute to Johan Cruijff. The Ajax Legends squad is beginning to take shape.
