Ziggo has decided not to renew its contract with Ajax, which expires on July 1, 2027. The current main sponsorship began on January 1, 2015 and will run until the end of the 2026/2027 season. This brings to a close a remarkable partnership between Ziggo and Ajax, lasting 12 and a half years. By taking and communicating this decision now, Ajax has time to search for a new main sponsor from the 2027/2028 season onwards.

Socials

In recent years, Ajax and Ziggo have worked closely together and experienced numerous sporting, commercial and social highlights. During the 2026/2027 season, several joint activations are still planned, including fan campaigns, exclusive content via Ziggo Sport, and initiatives within Priority, the customer programme of Vodafone and Ziggo.

Cas Biesta, Commercial Director of Ajax: ''We are extremely grateful to Ziggo for their trust, support and commitment throughout all these years, both in good times and in more challenging periods. Together, we have built a strong, innovative and highly visible partnership, continuously seeking new ways to bring our fans and Ziggo’s customers and partners closer to the club. The many sporting highlights and memorable moments with Ziggo on the shirt ensure they will always have a place in Ajax’s history. We still have a full season ahead of us, in which we will do everything possible to bring this partnership to a fitting and memorable conclusion.''

Robin Kroes, Director of Consumer Market at VodafoneZiggo: ''Our collaboration with Ajax has been defined by the ambition to contribute to football in the Netherlands and to the experience that makes the sport so special for so many people. Over the years, we have developed impactful campaigns together and created memorable moments, both on and off the pitch. For us, this collaboration has always been more than a sponsorship; it has been a partnership in which we have built experience and relevance for our customers and for football fans in general. After a long and successful period, this is a natural moment, in line with our strategy, to make room for new brand and partnership initiatives that extend beyond football. We are grateful for what has been achieved and look forward to concluding the final season in a fitting and meaningful way.''

Ziggo is the fourth main sponsor in the club’s history, following TDK, ABN AMRO and Aegon. After ABN AMRO, Ziggo is the longest-serving main sponsor of the Amsterdam-based club.
