Wout Weghorst was reacting shortly after the final whistle about the draw against FC Twente on Sunday afternoon: 2-2. "Ultimately the result is disappointing, of course you want to win the game. We had the upper hand much of the time. All said and done, we're happy with this one point after our amazing run."

It was a particularly special game for the Ajax player, who was born in Borne (near Enschede). "I enjoyed FC Twente versus Ajax. You just have to flick the switch, so that's what I do. You do what you love most, which is playing football. Playing for Ajax, I gave it my all to help the team."

Weghorst was in the opening line-up, having started the previous match against Maccabi Tel Aviv on the bench. The forward explained how he puts his personal desire to be on the pitch as much as possible to one side, all for the sake of the team. "The theory works and that's great. In the end, it's all about what's best for the team. It's that simple."
