The season is now at a close. It was 2-2 in Arnhem against Vitesse. It was also the final match for John van 't Schip on the Amsterdam bench. "It is actually over. That says it all. We got what we wanted last week. Ultimately, we are pleased for the supporters that we were able to equalise in injury time."

Ajax fans also made their presence felt in Arnhem. Van 't Schip noticed this in the GelreDome. "Supporters could tell this season that the team needed them. They have been right to be really disappointed and angry at times. But our fans have always been there for the team. Including today. The real winners this season have been the supporters. Not because of the football we gave them, but for the support they gave the club and the lads."

The manager spoke briefly about the game. He felt it wasn't great. "The game got off to a poor start, it was sloppy. I got a bit annoyed. I'd have thought we could have done better. But we didn't. I felt Steven Bergwijn played a good match. Josip scored his first goal and Kenneth was good. But it wasn't enough."
