Sven Mislintat will officially take on the role of Director of Football from May 19th onwards. The fifthy-year-old signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2026 and is looking forward to his challenge in Amsterdam. "It's an honour to me and I want to get the Ajax DNA as soon as I can."
Sven Mislintat has been appointed as Ajax's Director of Football. Ajax and the German have reached an agreement on this matter. He has signed a contract in Amsterdam that formally runs from May 19, 2023, until June 30, 2026.
'His first love' Edwin van der Sar called Ajax on 19 November 2012. The former goalkeeper joined the Ajax board as director of marketing exactly a decade ago. An ex-pro footballer in a high position at the club, following the example of Johan Cruyff. Van der Sar quit as an active player with Manchester United in 2011, went through training at Johan Cruijff University and started an adventure in Amsterdam in 2012 that is still alive and kicking.
