Ten Hag was not at all satisfied with the majority of the first half. "The start was not bad, but we made a lot of wrong choices. Then we go behind out of nothing. The organization was not good, we did not follow our principles and were not alert in defence."
After the break Ajax had better control over the match. "We still have to decide the game earlier, then we make it so much easier for ourselves. But we have shown a winning mentality."
Dusan Tadic was also pleased with the resilience his team showed. "The first two goals just before half time were very nice. Especially the 1-1, that was really the most important moment of the game."
It was Ajax’s fourth difficult win in a row. Tadic saw that too. "It has to be better, certainly. We have to expect more from ourselves, but also know that Groningen away is a difficult game. We won today and that is the most important."
