Ajax has signed Simon Adingra on loan from Sunderland AFC. The 24-year-old winger arrives in Amsterdam with immediate effect and will spend the remainder of the season on loan from the English club. The agreement includes an option to buy for Ajax.
Adingra (Abobo, Côte d'Ivoire, January 1, 2002) came through the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana before joining Danish side FC Nordsjaelland in 2021. He secured a move to Brighton &a Hove Albion in the summer of 2022. Following a brief loan spell with Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise, he went on to make a total of 73 appearances for Brighton before being sold to Sunderland last year. During the final months of last season, the Ivorian right-footed winger played on loan for AS Monaco in France’s Ligue 1.
