Ajax beat Rangers FC 3-1 last Tuesday at Ibrox. Brian Brobbey did not appear in the starting line-up for the final group stage match in the UEFA Champions League owing to injury, while Owen Wijndal and Steven Berghuis left the field suffering somewhat. "It's looking good," said Schreuder, referring to the current injuries in the Ajax squad. "Wijndal and Berghuis were not able to train today [Friday – ed.], but I hope they will be back soon."
The Ajax manager was unable to say with any certainty yet whether the two will see any action come Sunday. "We're quite likely to see Berghuis there, Wijndal will do everything he can. Today was looking fine, but we'll see how things go. He must be in no pain at all for him to go on, because we can't afford to take any risks." Schreuder does expect Brobbey to be there against PSV. "He was out training with the squad today."
PSV
Schreuder will get his team into the best possible shape for the big clash against rivals PSV. "We just want to win, but the league is far from in the bag. Feyenoord and AZ are also formidable opponents. We just focus on ourselves and take each game as it comes," he said Friday afternoon.
The Ajax manager sees a lot of quality in the front-line at PSV. "The forwards can be very dangerous and the midfield is solid. They played well against Arsenal, but we need also to remember our own qualities. Playing at home gives us a slight advantage."
