On Monday evening, Julian Rijkhoff played his first match at sports complex De Toekomst since his return to Amsterdam. The 19-year-old striker played an important role in the 3-0 victory against MVV by scoring two goals. Together with his friend Silvano Vos, who 'broke' into the interview, he looks back on the match. "I'm glad I got to show myself this match; it can only get better."
Julian Rijkhoff has officially returned to Ajax. The nineteen-year-old striker is proud to be able to play in the white-red-white again. "The last days were nerve-wracking, but I’m very happy it all worked out right before the transfer window deadline."
Ajax has reached an agreement with Julian Rijkhoff and Borussia Dortmund on the transfer of the 19-year-old striker to Amsterdam. Rijkhoff signed a contract effective immediately, which runs until June 30, 2027, with the option to extend for another year.
Ajax suffered their first defeat of 2024 on Sunday, away to SC Heerenveen. The Ajax team was beaten 3-2 in the Abe Lenstra Stadium. Ajax found themselves trailing 3-0 after 47 minutes, but did still manage to fight their way back into the game. However, the equaliser failed to materialise in the hectic closing stages.
