Just four days before kick-off, Ajax are fully focused on the cup final against PSV. The team completed an intense training session at the Toekomst on Wednesday morning, making the final preparations for the match at the Kuip on Sunday. Ajax have one goal for this week: to win the 21st KNVB cup in club history.
Zakaria Labyad suffered a serious injury to his right knee during training last week. The midfielder will therefore no longer play this season. Ajax previously announced that the club will not be extending his contract, which runs until June 30, 2022.
Ajax claimed all three points from the home match against Sparta. The gap to second-placed PSV is still four points after this weekend in the Eredivisie. The match was preceded by a statement of support for Louis van Gaal. The 70-year-old trainer is suffering from prostate cancer and has a history with both clubs.
