Zakaria Labyad suffered a serious injury to his right knee during training last week. The midfielder will therefore no longer play this season. Ajax previously announced that the club will not be extending his contract, which runs until June 30, 2022.
Labyad joined Ajax from FC Utrecht in the summer of 2018 and has played a total of 54 official matches for Ajax's first team, scoring 13 goals.
Labyad: "Soon, I will have an operation and after that I will work hard on my recovery. I hope to return to the fields as soon as possible."
