Sinterklaas evening on December 5, 2002, brought a lovely present. Moro was born in the Spanish village of Abrera, located in the province of Barcelona and the Catalonia region. It was in that area that young Moro began playing football.

In 2017, Espanyol snapped him up from Club Gimnàstic de Manresa, a team currently playing in the Primera Catalana. He didn’t stay long in Barcelona. After a season in Espanyol’s youth, FC Barcelona brought in the youngster. But again, he stayed only one season. SS Lazio paid millions to sign Moro, who was a youth international for Spain at the time, bringing him to the Italian capital in 2019.

In Rome, Moro mainly stood out in the U19s. He nearly averaged a goal every other game. Despite a quick debut for the first team (July 20, 2020, against Juventus), his impact at SS Lazio was limited. Spread over three seasons, he eventually made twenty appearances, mainly as a substitute, except on one occasion.

During his time at Lazio, he was loaned out three times. First for half a year (end of 2022) to Serie B side Ternana, and then another half-season (start of 2023) to Spanish club Real Oviedo. He made twelve and sixteen appearances, respectively. He didn’t go unnoticed in Spain. In the summer of 2023, Moro was loaned out for a year to Real Valladolid, then playing in the second tier.

And successfully so. Thanks in part to Moro’s contributions (thirty games: two goals, five assists), Real Valladolid finished second, resulting in promotion to the top flight. The pure dribbler was permanently signed by Real Valladolid from SS Lazio in the summer of 2024 and got the chance to showcase his skills in La Liga. His 'debut': the only goal in a 1-0 win over Espanyol. He completed 27 successful dribbles in the opposition’s penalty area this season, the fourth-highest in La Liga. Only Kylian Mbappé (66), Lamine Yamal (51), and Vinícius Júnior (43) did better.

Strong one-on-one play
Even though his team found themselves in the relegation zone, Moro stood out. With his pace, depth, and strong one-on-one play, he caused problems for various major international defenders. His explosive moves, both inside and outside, were a real nuisance in La Liga.

Despite Moro’s threat (33 games: four goals, five assists), Real Valladolid couldn’t survive, and after a year in the top division, they were relegated. It could well have been that Moro would’ve missed that relegation. During the previous winter transfer window, the talented winger was strongly linked with several clubs. “Moro is a player we’re interested in,” said Alex Kroes on 13 January 2025 on Rondo.

A broken collarbone during the match against Espanyol on January 17, 2025, threw a spanner in the works. The interest remained, and Moro also impressed during the U21 European Championship with Spain. In four matches at the tournament, the Spaniard provided two assists: against Romania (2-1 win) and in the 1-1 draw against Italy. Eventually, England proved too strong in the quarter-finals.

After his holiday in the Dominican Republic, it finally happened: the transfer to Ajax was made public. Moro arrived in Amsterdam, and later, he shook hands with Kroes, the man who had already expressed interest in the Spanish dribbler back in January.

Shirt number seven
In Amsterdam, Moro will play with shirt number seven. He follows in the footsteps of Steven Bergwijn, who wore the number from the 2022/2023 to the 2024/2025 season.
