Julian Rijkhoff joins Almere City FC on loan

Ajax and Almere City FC have reached an agreement on the loan of Julian Rijkhoff. The striker will join the club from Flevoland on a season-long loan, running until mid-2026. The 20-year-old’s contract with Ajax runs until June 30, 2027.

Rijkhoff (Purmerend, January 25, 2005) joined Ajax from Borussia Dortmund in the winter of 2024. The forward, who previously played in Amsterdam, left Ajax’s youth academy in 2021 to join the German club’s academy. On February 15, 2024, he debuted for Ajax’s first team in the home match against FK Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League: 2–2. Up till now, Rijkhoff has made eleven official appearances for Ajax’s first team. Since returning to Amsterdam, he has played 42 matches for Ajax U23 in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie over a season and a half, scoring fifteen goals.

Technical director Alex Kroes: “Unfortunately, Julian was unable to make the definitive breakthrough to the first team last season. In Almere, he’ll have the opportunity to compete for the championship and continue developing in a different environment. We’ve wished him every success and will, of course, closely monitor his progress.”
