With just one day to go before Ajax meet SC Cambuur at the Johan Cruyff ArenA, some new faces were to be seen at the de Toekomst training ground on Friday. Florian Grillitisch and Ahmetcan Kaplan appeared wearing the Ajax training strip.

With the transfer window now closed, all minds can now focus entirely on the Eredivisie and the UEFA Champions League over the coming days. Players at the training ground Friday morning were introduced to their two new teammates right away. After formal introductions and a round of applause from the Ajax team, training got underway.

This Saturday, they face SC Cambuur in Amsterdam. The visitors are currently 10th in the Eredivisie. After Saturday, the focus switches to the Champions League. Rangers FC will visit Amsterdam this coming Wednesday. Kick off is at 6.45pm.

Ajax contracts Florian Grillitsch

Ajax has reached an agreement with Florian Grillitsch. The defensive midfielder was under contract until 1 July 2022 with TSG Hoffenheim, which plays in the German Bundesliga. Grillitsch comes to Ajax as a free transfer. He signed a contract for one season in Amsterdam, until 30 June 2023. The agreement includes an option for Ajax for two years.
