Gravenberch awarded Goal of the Season: ‘Best goal of my career so far’

Ryan Gravenberch has been awarded the Goal of the Season. His goal against FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League group stage has been chosen you, the fans, as the best goal from the 2020/2021 campaign. This week, at the training camp in Austria, David the Host presented the Dutchman with the trophy that comes with the award.

The nineteen-year-old midfielder’s goal beat the likes of Klaas Jan Huntelaar’s (versus FC Twente) and Dusan Tadic’s (versus FC Utrecht) when it came to the vote totals. He accepted the trophy with a big smile on his face. "I'm happy with this. It was a nice goal, but I didn't expect to win it in December, because we still had so long to go."

Free kicks
The Dutch international claims it’s his best goal so far in his career, "I think so, yes. If I could score another beauty like the one against FC Midtjylland next season, it would be great. But a free kick would also be nice. I have worked on my free kicks a lot in the off-season.”
