Everything there is to know about Thursday's UEFA Champions League draw

Ajax will know on Thursday evening which opponents it will be facing in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. The draw will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, and will begin at 18:00 on Thursday.

Once the final teams qualified for the main draw on Tuesday and Wednesday evening, all 32 teams participating in the 2022/2023 Champions League season became known. Thanks to their 36th league title, Ajax was already assured of a ticket.

The draw can be viewed live on UEFA.com and UEFA.tv.

Group 1
Coach Alfred Schreuder's team is in group 1 in the draw and will therefore avoid FC Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, FC Porto, AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The rest of the group looks like this:

Group 2:

Early September
The first group matches are scheduled for 6 and 7 September. In addition, teams from the same countries cannot meet and Russian teams are excluded from participation. The schedule of play is as follows.

Round 3: 4 and 5 October 2022
Round 4: 11 and 12 October 2022
Round 5: 25 and 26 October 2022
Round 6: 1 and 2 November 2022

The kit celebrates Amsterdam’s unique street football culture and its golden generation, to recognize its impact on the sense of belonging and community in Amsterdam. The predominantly golden jersey features smoky black watermarks of 9 of Amsterdam’s most prominent street football courts. The red and black vertical bar and white Ajax crest and sponsor logos, reflects the colours of the loved city flag. It also mirrors the vertical red bar of the iconic Ajax home jersey.
