Ajax has won the Corporate Partnership Award at the European Club Association (ECA) Awards for their Future Goals project together with Sandals Resorts. Future Goals are football goals made from recycled fishnets from the ocean and plastic waste. The goals are, together with balls, gifted to kids on the island of Curaçao. This way they can play the beautiful game of football and develop themselves.

CEO Edwin van der Sar collected the prestigious award in Istanbul, given by PSG & ECA president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. The ECA represents all the 246 clubs active in European football; UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.

Menno Geelen, commercial director Ajax: “Future Goals is a triple win partnership. The most important win is for the kids, who can simply play football thanks to this project. The win for the local communities - involved in both the production of the goals as in coaching the kids - is just as important. The win for Sandals Resorts and ourselves is that a partnership as such does not only contribute to commercial goals, but also fills us with a lot of pride and gratitude. This award and the international recognition for Future Goals is a fourth win, and of course we are very happy with it.”
