Ajax have wrapped up the fifth day of their training camp in Zeist with the final session ahead of Saturday’s friendly against Aarhus GF. Before joining Ajax, Aaron Bouwman was a striker. But once he arrived at De Toekomst, he was almost immediately transformed into a central defender. At just 17 years old, the native of Haarlem appears to have a bright future in that position. "I hope to make my debut for Ajax 1 this season."
John Heitinga introduced himself to the Dutch press on Thursday during Ajax's training camp in Zeist. The head coach reflected on his appointment and shared his ambitions for the upcoming season. "The goal is direct qualification for the UEFA Champions League. But personally, I want to become champion — or at least be in the title race. Still, ther''s a difference between wanting and needing," Heitinga stated.
