Brobbey: 'Hold on to the first half'

Following the 2-0 defeat, Brian Brobbey said he thought Ajax offered excellent resistance against Brighton & Hove Albion in the first half. "We put a lot of pressure on Brighton & Hove Albion. We can look back with pride and hold on to that."

Sadly, Ajax had to let in a goal in the first half. The English struck again after the break. There was then a stage in the match where Ajax had opportunities to score an equaliser thanks to Chuba Akpom and Brobbey himself.

Brobbey's attempt in particular deserved more. The forward hit the inside of the post and could only watch as the ball headed agonisingly slowly along the line towards the other post. "I was actually quite into the game and felt we kept the pressure up well. Just too bad I didn't score. I have never experienced a ball hitting the inside of the post twice like that."
