Ajax Women have won their first pre-season match of the 2026/2027 season. At training complex de Toekomst, the German side Borussia Mönchengladbach were beaten 1-0. The team, coached by Anouk Bruil, made a successful start to their preparations.
Before kick-off, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of the recently deceased Hans Bijvank, an honorary member of Ajax who passed away at the age of 81. Out of respect, the Ajax players also wore black armbands.
In a balanced first half, both teams created chances but neither side managed to score. After the break, a heavily changed Ajax side took to the pitch and clearly gained the upper hand.
Their pressure was rewarded in the second half with the only goal of the match. Lina Touzani delivered a fine cross for Xanne Kip, who finished calmly to make it 1-0. That goal proved decisive, as Ajax secured victory in their opening pre-season fixture.
Ajax Women will begin the 2026/2027 Women Eredivisie season with an away match against FC Utrecht on Sunday, August 16. Kick-off is at 12:15. The first Klassieker of the season will be played on Sunday, October 4, when Ajax travel to Feyenoord. The fixtures have been confirmed by the KNVB following the publication of the official match schedule.
Katja Snoeijs can call herself an Ajax player for the coming years. The striker has signed a contract until mid-2029. With the arrival of Snoeijs, the Ajax Women appear to have secured a proven goalscorer.
Ajax and Juventus have reached an agreement on the transfer of Danique Noordman. The 22-year-old midfielder was under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2027.
