Ajax Women look back on a good training week in Austria. A day before their departure, the squad played a friendly against German side 1. FC Nürnberg. According to head coach Anouk Bruil, however, it was also an important week for team-building. "When we play in the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying round, we will need more than just our footballing qualities; we will also need to be mentally ready. Those two things need to come together."
The Ajax Women are currently at their pre-season training camp in the Austrian mountains. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, the squad is working hard on the training pitch while also enjoying plenty of laughs during various team activities. Ajax has reached an agreement with Chelsea on the loan signing of Femke Liefting. The 21-year-old goalkeeper joins the club on a season-long loan from the English side.
Ajax Women also won their second pre-season friendly of the summer. Following their victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach Women, Anouk Bruil's side claimed a convincing 7-0 win against Ter Leede on home soil on Saturday.
