Ajax U23 claim home victory over De Graafschap

Ajax U23 and De Graafschap were evenly matched for much of the first half, but the game suddenly came to life just before the break. Emre Ünüvar gave the hosts the lead after capitalising on a misplaced back pass. The forward intercepted the ball before calmly slotting it past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

The lead did not last long, however. Just a minute later, the visitors were awarded a free kick and the ball found Donny Warmerdam, who was left unmarked and headed home the equaliser. As a result, the two sides went into half-time level at 1-1.

Ajax U23 eventually regained the advantage in the second half. In the 77th minute, Jano Monserrate delivered a cross towards the far post. The ball evaded everyone in the penalty area and curled directly into the net, restoring the lead for the hosts and making it 2-1. Ajax U23 held on in the closing stages to secure all three points at de Toekomst.
