Ajax increase Eredivisie lead in Eindhoven

Ajax have won the Eredivisie match against PSV on Sunday afternoon. The match in Eindhoven ended 0-2. Davy Klaassen and Bertrand Traoré scored the goals on behalf of the Amsterdam-based team. The win means Ajax have increased their lead on PSV by 3 points, making the difference nine points.

The match in the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven started with both teams hunting for their first opportunities. PSV’s defense flaked, leaving spaces for Ajax and providing a promising first half for the team from Amsterdam. The first big chance came for Brobbey, who missed a cross from Mika Godts. In the 35th minute, Mr. 1-0 again lived up to his name. Davy Klaassen scored the first goal on behalf of Ajax after an assist from Lucas Rosa. The teams went into the dressing room with a 0-1 lead at half-time.

In the first minutes of the second half, Ajax were pushed back by PSV, who were increasing the pressure. However, Bertrand Traoré managed to score the second goal of the match in the 67th minute, with an assist from goalkeeper Matheus. Ajax continued to hunt for more goals, with Taylor having two more chances to score the match’s third goal, but the final score in Eindhoven was 0-2. Ajax take the three points home to Amsterdam, increasing their lead over the number two of the Eredivisie to nine points. 

The next Eredivisie match will take place on Sunday, April 6. Ajax will play against NAC at home in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The match will start at 16:45.
