Ajax fans enjoy Open Day

Ajax supporters turned out in force for the club's Open Day on Monday. Fans of all ages enjoyed fun activities, took part in football challenges, collected autographs and watched the Ajax first team player presentations and open training session.

The atmosphere among the Ajax faithful was excellent, with the sunshine adding to the occasion. Many supporters were already wearing the new match shirts released in recent months.

The day began outside the Johan Cruijff ArenA, where young Ajax fans had the chance to show off their football skills, step into the role of a football reporter and take a look inside the team coach. Ajax songs echoed around the stadium precinct throughout the morning.


In the afternoon, the programme moved inside the stadium, where both the Ajax Women squad and Míchel Sánchez's first-team squad were presented. The Ajax Women were first to take to the stage.


Inside the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the presenters spoke to head coach Anouk Bruil and returning midfielder Nadine Noordam, among others.

It was then the men's team's turn. Supporters were especially eager to catch a glimpse of Julian Brandt, who was unveiled on Friday. To loud applause, the German midfielder made his entrance.


After the player presentations, the men's first-team squad held an open training session in front of the crowd. Following the session, Brandt, among others, spent a long time signing shirts for the young Ajax supporters. Our photographers were also there to capture the stadium programme.
