Ajax easily qualify for the quarterfinals of the Dutch Cup


Ajax have qualified with ease for the quarterfinals of the Dutch Cup. The reigning cup winners were far too strong for the amateurs from Excelsior Maassluis, with the score finishing 9-0. Danilo (4), Mohamed Daramy (2), Nico Tagliafico, Youri Regeer and Kristian Hlynsson were on the score sheet for Ajax.

In the second round of the cup, Ajax also faced an amateur team. With a nearly entirely changed starting eleven, Erik ten Hag's team won 4-0. Amourricho van Axel Dongen, Youri Regeer and Kristian Hlynsson made their debut on that day. On this occasion, Jay Gorter played his first minutes for the Ajax first team.
