Ajax and Oscar García terminate contract

Ajax and Oscar García have mutually agreed to terminate the coach's contract. García's deal with Ajax was due to run until June 30, 2027, but both parties have decided to end their collaboration with immediate effect. Following García's departure, fitness coach Enrique Sanz will also leave the club.

Oscar García Junyent (April 26, 1973, Barcelona, Spain) joined Ajax as head coach of Ajax U23 in February of this year. A month later, he took over the first-team duties from Fred Grim. Under García's leadership, the club secured a place in the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds via the play-offs.

Technical Director Jordi Cruijff: "Oscar joined Ajax U23 at a difficult moment. Shortly afterwards, we needed him with the first team, and that was not an easy situation either. We are grateful for his efforts and, of course, wish him every success in the next stage of his career."

Artwork 'Icons of Amsterdam' unveiled at Johan Cruijff Arena

A striking artwork was unveiled at the main entrance of the Johan Cruijff Arena on Thursday. To mark 750 years of Amsterdam, the Arena has gifted the city a permanent piece of art featuring many of its icons. The unveiling was carried out by Mayor Femke Halsema, together with several of those portrayed and/or their families. Among the highlights are towering images of various (former) Ajax players, which have adorned the Arena surroundings since Thursday.

Ajax and Sparta Prague reach agreement on Sivert Mannsverk transfer

Ajax and Sparta Prague have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Sivert Mannsverk to the Czech club. The midfielder’s contract with Ajax was due to run until June 30, 2028. The 24-year-old Norwegian spent the past year on loan at the club he has now joined on a permanent basis.
