Board

Menno Geelen: CEO
Menno Geelen (Huizen, 22/01/1982) studied Business Administration at Radboud University in Nijmegen. Geelen has been working for Ajax since the summer of 2010. Before that, he worked for Eyeworks Sport and Sportmarketingbureau Trefpunt. At Ajax he worked for two years as Head of Sponsorship, and has been responsible for the entire commercial department the last four years. On 1 November, 2016, Geelen joined the board of Ajax as Commercial Director (ex-officio). He was appointed executive director under the Articles of Association at the Shareholder General Meeting on 16 November, 2018.

From 10 May 2024, Menno Geelen assumed the role of interim CEO. As of 1 July 2025, he officially became the CEO of AFC Ajax. On 4 February 2026, Geelen joined the board of the Ajax Foundation as chairman.

Shashi Baboeram Panday: Financial Director
Shashi Baboeram Panday (Utrecht, 8 May 1979) has been the Financial Director of Ajax since 1 March 2025. Prior to this, he was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Talpa Holding and Talpa Network. Baboeram Panday had been with the media company since 2007. Before his tenure at Talpa, he worked at Deloitte Accountants. His appointment as Financial Director runs from 1 March 2025 until the General Meeting of Shareholders in 2028. He is also a statutory director.

Jordi Cruijff: technical director
Cruijff (Amsterdam, February 9, 1974) spent several years in Ajax's youth academy before moving to Spain, where he continued his football education at FC Barcelona. As a professional footballer, he played not only for FC Barcelona but also, among others, for Manchester United. He also made nine appearances for the Dutch national team. After his active playing career, Cruijff held various positions in international football, including that of sporting director at Maccabi Tel Aviv and FC Barcelona. Cruijff is affiliated with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) as an adviser. He is also a statutory director.

Marijn Beuker: Director of Football
Marijn Beuker (Arnhem, September 21, 1984) studied, among other places, at the Cruyff University. In 2007, he began as a coordinator of talent development at AZ. Then, from 2013 to 2021, he worked within the Alkmaar club in the role of Head of Football Development & Strategy. At the end of 2021, he joined Queen's Park FC as Director of Football.

The 39-year-old Beuker reached an agreement with Ajax for a contract that runs from December 1, 2023, to July 1, 2028. He is responsible for the youth academy, all directly supportive disciplines, and for the Scouting and Football Analytics departments.

Cas Biesta: Commercial Director
Cas Biesta (born 12 December 1985 in Arnhem) has been a statutory board member and Commercial Director at Ajax since 1 July 2025. He had already been serving as interim Commercial Director since May 2024. Prior to that, Biesta worked at Ajax for ten years in various roles, including Head of Marketing & Brand Partnerships.

He studied Sports, Economics, and Communication at the University of Applied Sciences in Tilburg and previously held positions as a field producer at Eyeworks Sport/Talpa, editor at Eredivisie Live, and sports marketeer at sports marketing agency Triple Double, where he was part of the management team. At Ajax, Biesta is ultimately responsible for the club's marketing and commercial revenue. His current appointment runs until 30 June 2028.

Lesley Bamberger (chairman)
Lesley Bamberger (Amsterdam, June 3, 1965) is CEO and owner of Kroonenberg Groep. From 2010 through 2025, he was the owner of Almere City FC through Kroonenberg Groep, where he also served as a member of the Supervisory Board. Since 2009, Bamberger has been a member of the Association at Ajax.

Dirk Anbeek (vice-chairman)
Dirk Anbeek (25 April 1963) is chair of the Supervisory Board at Landal/Roompot and Sligro Foodgroup, and sits on the board at GVB Amsterdam until 13 December 2024. Anbeek is a business economist and financial controller, and was previously a director at Albert Heijn as well as CFO and CEO at Wereldhave NV, and CEO at Landal Greenparks. He sat on the board at Ordina NV where he was chair of the audit committee.

Anita Coronel
Anita Coronel (Amsterdam, July 10, 1979) is Managing Director and partner at Boston Consulting Group, where she leads the 'Organisation Practice' in Europe, South America, Africa and the Middle East. In addition, she has gained governance experience at, among others, Stichting ALS Nederland, where she served as Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board.

Marry de Gaay Fortman
Marry de Gaay Fortman (Amsterdam, September 22, 1965) is a partner and lawyer at Houthoff. In addition, she is President-Commissioner at Conclusion Group and has held supervisory positions at, among others, KLM, GVB and De Nederlandsche Bank.

Edo Ophof
Edo Ophof (Rhenen, May 21, 1959) was the owner and CEO of Technische Metaal Industrie and has, among other roles, been a member of the Supervisory Board at NEC. The former professional footballer for NEC, Ajax, AZ, FC Utrecht and the Netherlands national team worked for many years at Lotto Benelux after his active playing career. At the sportswear brand, he held (inter)national management positions. Ophof has been a member of the Association at Ajax again since 1993 and has been a member of the Board Council since 2024. He will step down from that role due to this nomination to the Supervisory Board.

Duncan Stutterheim
Duncan Stutterheim (Purmerend, September 5, 1971) is co-founder of the entertainment company ID&T. The entrepreneur is co-owner of, among others, the Westergas site and the A’DAM Tower and has served as a board member at, among others, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam 750 and the Advisory Board of Artis.

Annual General Meeting
All members are welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM). However, junior members and extraordinary members are not allowed to vote.
The meeting is held four times a year. The chairperson is Ernst Boekhorst, the secretary is Ed Lefeber.

Bordjesclub
The 'Bordjesclub' is accessible to everyone who has been a member of the association for over 25 years. The club was founded in 1946 and has 130 members.
