Weghorst and Josip Šutalo are on the verge of qualifying for the World Cup with their national teams. Weghorst won twice with the Netherlands. It was 0-4 in Malta, followed a few days later by another 4-0 win against Finland at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. In Malta, a Weghorst goal was disallowed after the referee had already blown for a Dutch penalty in the same attack.
Šutalo played the full match for Croatia against the Czech Republic, keeping a clean sheet in a 0–0 draw. He did not feature against Gibraltar. Like the Netherlands, Croatia can secure World Cup qualification in the next international window.
Gaaei did not feature for Denmark, spending both matches on the bench. Denmark still top their group, level on points with Scotland. Gloukh, meanwhile, featured in both matches for Israel. However, both away games ended in defeat, meaning Israel can no longer qualify for the World Cup.
Mokio scores for Belgium U21
Don-Angelo Konadu played half an hour in the Netherlands U21’s goalless draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina U21. He started against Lithuania but was substituted at half-time. Mokio found the net for Belgium U21, scoring against Wales U21 in a match that ended 7–0 to the Belgians. Belgium U21 also beat Denmark U21 2–0.
The Netherlands U19 lost both of their friendlies. Against France U19, Ajax player Marvyn Muzungu played half an hour for the French side, and he also started against Switzerland U19.
Emre Ünüvar scored twice for the Netherlands U18 against Switzerland U18, while Sean Steur netted the equaliser against Poland U18. The Dutch ultimately lost that friendly 1–2.
