"When you look at where we got to today and the work we've done in the past few months, we can be satisfied", continued the Ajax manager.

Van ’t Schip called the Ajax – PSV clash a hard-fought match. "Our lads not only held their own, but also had the best opportunities. Of course, they did have that header from Luuk de Jong hit the crossbar. Aside from that, I thought it was a fantastic atmosphere in the Johan Cruyff ArenA. It felt like a European match."

Excellent debut
The manager also thought that Jordan Henderson had an excellent match against PSV in his debut. The Englishman held his own against the Eindhoven team for the whole match. And that was after having not played an official match for a month.

"The other players help with his coaching, energy and directions. We hope to see more of that in the coming matches.”
