Van 't Schip said the international break had been 'quiet'. "Only a few players were left here. I've been spending my time on other things and have had a few conversations. We were back to full training on Monday. The lads all get back from their international games today," said the manager.
The future for Van 't Schip
He recently spoke with club director Alex Kroes about his future at Ajax and how things will work out. "That's several years off yet. We have to wait and see exactly what role that will be."
He will not always be manager. "It was clear from the start what needed to be done. Of course, we all know things change in football, but I have no problem with that."
Sick list
There are several players Van 't Schip won't be able to count on against PEC Zwolle this Sunday. "Brian Brobbey and Josip Ĺ utalo are still not fit. The latter has been having treatment in Croatia and has now returned. Steven Berghuis is improving a little, but will not be there come Sunday. And there's Ahmetcan Kaplan too, who is on suspension. Tristan Gooijer is back though."
"Jordan Henderson has suffered a setback," Van 't Schip continued. "Having consulted with the medical team, he will be recuperating in England for a week. Jordan will miss the next three matches."
Van 't Schip also said Steven Bergwijn cannot play for the whole match against PEC Zwolle on Sunday. There's still a question mark around Mika Godts. "He's been looking good for the past few days. I hope he can play for a bit longer again, same goes for Bergwijn."
