Under the supervision of the attending press, the Ajax players started their training. The warming-up existed of a game where the players needed to stand in several group positions at the sound of the whistle. The Ajax players that remained or were too late were ordered to do a few pushups. After warming up, the group moved to the other side of the stadium, where footballs were added.
The small rondo, with two players moving in from the sides to put pressure, caused short combinations and high intensity. After a successful session, goal or nutmeg, the cheers echoed through the empty Johan Cruijff ArenA. Goalkeepers Gero Rulli, Diant Ramaj, and Jay Gorter were challenged at the goal. The trio was sent from left to right by goalkeeper coach Anton Scheutjens.
After that, it was time to merge. The goalkeepers went to their goals, and the players gathered around the penalty area to practice some finishes with assists from the sides. Inwards, outwards and hard and low in front of the goal. The Ajax players got the opportunity to score from all sides in trios.
After a few stunning goals, a second goal was added around thirty meters from the other. A mini-game between team white and team purple was up next. Under the burning sun, it was team purple who found the net after a few beautiful attacks.
With that, the last training in preparation for the Eredivise was concluded. The season will start on Saturday evening at 20.00, at home against Heracles.
