As a trainer, Erik ten Hag was very pleased with the outcome of Ajax's 3-1 win against FC Midtjylland. Ten Hag was also very progress made compared to the first leg game three weeks ago. 'It's clear to see. I think we were much calmer on the ball and did a good job finding free space'.

Ten Hag also thought the opening goal of the game from Ryan Gravenberch was one for the books. 'The offensive play was incredible and the finish was textbook'.

David Neres made it 3-0 and was rewarded for his strong performance.  Ten Hag said it was as if the Brazilian had been 'liberated'. 'Before half time he was a real threat, but it didn't quite work out. After that, it all came flooding out. What's clear is that David has spent his recovery working on his shooting technique. Twice now his finish has brilliantly intense and phenomenally accurate'.
