"The facilities in Portugal were perfect," the Serb recalls. "We were still able to train well for three days. We did five or six sessions on an excellent field. Even with a bit of sun."
The quick return to the Netherlands has had no further influence on the preparation, the captain claimed, "We also trained hard here. Even the weather was actually fine, so no problem."
Eredivisie begins again
Next Sunday, Ajax open 2022 at the Stadium Galgenwaard against FC Utrecht, "FC Utrecht are always strong against Ajax. But we are very motivated to win, because we lost last time. We were sloppy then. We have not forgotten that match in Amsterdam."
Ajax will play without internationals Sébastien Haller and Andre Onana on Sunday. "But we have a new player in the team", Tadic laughs, referring to Brian Brobbey.
According to the captain, the team is ready for the resumption of the Eredivisie. "Everyone is ready to start again. The best way to do that is by playing matches. It is nice that we are immediately facing a strong opponent."
