Under the watchful eyes of technical director Alex Kroes and Mr. Ajax Sjaak Swart, the Ajax players took the next step in preparing for the 2024/2025 season, sporting their new training gear. The internationals currently active in the European Championship and the Copa América were absent, as were players such as Kristian Hlynsson, Benjamin Tahirović, Anton Gaaei, and Sivert Mannsverk.
One player who was present on the training field was Steven Berghuis. Last week, during the open training session for the press, the Ajax player trained indoors, but on Wednesday, he was seen outside on the field. He partially trained with the group and watched Ajax coach Farioli passionately convey his vision. By now, the unmistakable sound of "bravo" echoing across De Toekomst is that of the Italian Ajax coach.
First friendly
These are busy weeks for the Ajax squad before the first friendly of the new season on July 5. The Ajacieden will face PEC Zwolle at sports complex De Toekomst. The match is behind closed doors but can be followed live on Ziggo Sport.
