Beautiful words from Overmars
The midfielder received a special Ajax bust from Director of Football Affairs, Marc Overmars. Overmars spoke highly of Schöne's efforts as an Ajax player.

"Every year I had to fight my way back into the team. That's part of being a top football player. You have to demonstrate your value on the pitch. You can’t try to play differently, you just have to work hard. Then you will end up where you belong.”
