Ready for the Klassieker: Ajax Women prepare for Sunday

Sunday marks an important day for the Ajax Women. Head coach Anouk Bruil’s side will host Feyenoord at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The Klassieker is not only a fixture with plenty of appeal, but also an opportunity for Ajax to remain firmly in the title race in the Women’s Eredivisie. This week, the Ajacieden trained at sports complex de Toekomst to ensure they are fully prepared for Sunday’s clash with the Rotterdam side.

With four matches remaining in the league, the tension is palpable. The gap between leaders PSV and fourth-placed Feyenoord is just five points. FC Twente and Ajax are only two points adrift of the Eindhoven-based team. As a result, more than pride will be at stake at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Sunday from 12:15 CET, with the current number three also able to keep the pressure on the league leaders. Earlier this season, Ajax claimed a 0-1 victory away in Rotterdam, with Mirte van Koppen scoring the decisive goal.
