Perr Schuurs extends Ajax contract

Ajax and Perr Schuurs have reached an agreement on the extension of his contract, which ran until June 30, 2022. The new agreement with the central defender runs until June 30, 2025.

Schuurs was born on November 26, 1999 in Sittard. His first contract with Ajax was effective from January 1, 2018, but he finished the 2017-2018 football season on loan at Fortuna Sittard, his childhood club.

Schuurs, who was called up for the Dutch national team for the first time earlier this season, made his Ajax debut on September 26, 2018 in the cup match, HVV Te Werve - Ajax (0-7). He has played 43 official matches in Ajax's first team so far, scoring two goals.

With Ajax, Schuurs was champion of the Dutch league in the 2018-2019 season and also claimed the KNVB Cup in his first year at the club. In 2019 he won the Johan Cruijff Shield with Ajax.
