Ajax, Al-Hilal and Marcos Leonardo have reached an agreement on the transfer of the striker to Amsterdam. The 23-year-old Brazilian has signed a five-year contract, running until June 30, 2031. Ajax will pay the Saudi Arabian club a transfer fee of just under € 20 million.
Leonardo (Itapetinga, Brazil, May 2, 2003) began his professional career in his homeland with Santos before moving to Europe at the start of 2024, when he signed for Benfica. Later that same year, the Brazil international completed a transfer from Portugal to Al-Hilal. He made 82 official appearances for the Saudi club, scoring 48 goals.
Jordi Cruijff: "We have admired Marcos for quite some time and are therefore delighted that he has now signed for Ajax. Despite his young age, he already has a wealth of experience. He has made more than 250 official appearances as a professional and scored over 100 goals. His main task here will be to score goals, and we have every confidence that he will do exactly that."
