Oleksandr Zinchenko made an unfortunate starting debut for Ajax. The Ukrainian was forced off injured after just a few minutes with what appeared to be a serious injury. Zinchenko was replaced by Owen Wijndal.
It was a blemish on an otherwise lightning-fast opening phase. Within 24 minutes, Ajax were already 3-0 up. The scoring was opened by Jorthy Mokio, who netted the opener after eight minutes. His fellow countrymen Bounida (his first Eredivisie goal) and Godts then also found the back of the net.
Ajax enjoyed an otherwise comfortable first half, but still conceded a goal just before the break. Josip Šutalo turned a cross into his own net: 3-1.
In the second half, Kasper Dolberg initially made his presence felt. The Dane first hit the post and later saw a headed goal ruled out for pushing his direct opponent. Still, it became 4-1 ten minutes from time. Mika Godts scored his second and registered his twelfth goal of the season. With eight assists as well, he is now the player most directly involved in a goal in the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie.
